THERMAL INSULATION WITH CLADDING
- HOT / COLD / PERSONNEL PROTECTION-
Heat is a form of energy, which gets transferred in the form of conduction, convection & radiation, whenever there is a temperature gradient between two objects or fluids. When the useful heat energy is lost to the environment, the efficiency of the equipment / system drops and results into a significant economic impact.
ARK’s optimally designed thermal insulation provides barrier to this undesired heat flow and minimizes the heat transfer between the equipment and surrounding environment. This helps in maintaining the temperature of process fluid at desired level and helps prevent unnecessary heat loss/gain, thereby reducing operating costs for heating/cooling.
HOT INSULATION
The purpose of hot insulation is heat conservation as well as achieving safe temperature on the outer surface (generally < 60 deg. C). Hot Insulation is essential to minimize the heat loss from equipment when certain temperature of the process fluid must be maintained as a part of chemical process requirement, or when the fluid congeals below a certain temperature.
Applications:
| Pump
| Steam Turbine
| Gas Turbine
| High Temperature Equipment
| Pipeline
| Engine Exhaust
COLD INSULATION
Cold insulation is generally provided to equipment and pipelines carrying cold process fluids and heat ingress from atmosphere needs to be minimized. In such cases, water condensation may occur since equipment surface temperature is below the dew point temperature of atmospheric air. Therefore, water and vapor barrier treatment is also generally included in cold insulation.
Applications:
| Pump
| Low Temperature Equipment
| Pipeline
PERSONNEL PROTECTION INSULATION
Personnel Protection insulation is generally provided to equipment, pipelines and valves having operating temperatures higher than 60 °C, which are within reach of human operators.
This insulation protects personnel from any health hazards that may occur by touching the hot surfaces.
Applications:
| Valves
| Hot Equipment
| Pipeline
| Flanged Joints
| Test Rig
